Hello everybody

a student of mine asked me to help him find a job in the UK. He's Italian, in June he'll be taking the First Certificate exam and is looking for some way to plan his stay (2-3 months) before leaving Italy. I am sure there are some schools or organizations that help students find work and accommodation in Italy, perhaps there is a British institution specialising in this kind of service? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Give me a shout Mar 15, 2009

Dear Sarah,

The UK is not the most socialist place on earth, but as I live in Birmingham, if the student wants to study, S/he can register at the Brasshouse and we can try to help him/her.

Please do contact me privately if you are interested.

Best regards,

Hacène

Thanks - student wants to work Mar 16, 2009

Thank you so much, I will certainly pass this information on. However, my student does not want to study in the UK only to work. Would that be a problem?

Not at all Mar 18, 2009

I just thought that s/he would take the opportunity to take the Advanced certificate. However, nothing prevents him or her just to come and work. Yet be aware that given the economic climate, s/he might not find a job as easily as in the past. This being said, I do not know anything about your student so I cannot say more, but it is true that a small job like in a pub (for instance) will go a long way to help him/her develop his/her linguistic skills.
