Gëzuar Krishtlindjen! (If it is used for a particular Christmas)
or
Gëzuar Krishtlindjet! (If it is used in general, at any time)

Monika

¡Felices Fiestas! (perhaps the one with the widest meaning including non-catholics)

¡Feliz Navidad y Próspero Año Nuevo!

Cheers from Buenos Aires, Argentina
Au

pd: a subtlety (or not): mine is Argentine Spanish, there may be other ways of greeting friends according to the different variaties of Spanish (Colombian, Chilean, Peruvian, Spanish-Spanish, et caetera...).

About Santa's Net website Nov 14, 2003

I am not sure about the other languages, but the Albanian version of Merry Christmas in this website has lots of misspellings (four mistakes within two words!!!)

Dictionaries vs Translators Nov 14, 2003

Probably these greetings are in dictionaries and glossaries, but languages become old (or old-fashioned) faster than they used to.

So here we are!!!

This posting is a great chance (thank you Ann!!! ) to share "live" greetings as well as additional comments which enrich us, curious creatures by definition.

Au, revoir

And the French one is missing the \"tréma\" (dieresis?) on the e in Noël...

If you type "christmas greetings all languages" in Google, you'll get quite a few hits, maybe you can compare them to make sure that the spelling is right.

Merry Christmas: Vesel Vnoce

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year: Vesel Vnoce a astn nov rok (without accents: Vesele Vanoce a stastny novy rok)

By the way, the translation on santas.net means "We wish you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" and the capitalization is wrong.

As well as the Russian version. A lot of mistakes.

"Schastl'Ivogo Rozhdestv'A!" -- that's how we say it in Russian. Russian (Eastern Orthodox) Christmas is at Jan, 7th. I've put ' before the accented vowels.

"S N'ovym g'odom!" -- Happy New Year!

Dear Jack, thank you for another multilanguage site!
