As the World Cup (or Copa do Mundo, or Coupe du Monde or whatever you call it) draws near, I have had the idea of collecting sites with football (or soccer, as they call it the other side of the Pond) and World Cup vocabulary in different languages.

I'll start off with English - Portuguese:

I have built a short glossary of football terms (EN/PT-BR) on my blog which is: http://www.paul-translator.blogspot.com. For a more comprehensive list, check out the blog of Mariza Gottdank at http://vencendoomedodefalaringles.blogspot.com. There is also the Transparent site at http://www.transparent.com/portuguese/soccer-vocabulary-in-portuguese.

For English only, try the BBC site which is: http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/grammar/vocabulary/football.shtml
