If not, give him a chance, you won't regret it. To me, that's the best italian love song ever written. Actually, it goes BEYOND love I couldn't even explain... And, yes, JB works for me as well! Gianni PS: I think I am going to post more topics like this (following up: Best Band, the 10 Records to take on a desert island etc. etc. Gianni, you've got me curious: will certainly look out for "La Cura"! Go right ahead with the other topics: excellent idea. Since no-one's mentioned J.J. Cale yet I will, because he more than deserves a mention. "Cocaine", which everyone's heard the Eric Clapton version of, is originally a Cale song. Bluesy, great guitar, laconic lyrics. That's an interesting observation about mainly English songs being mentioned: merits a forum discussion of its own - I don't want to go off-topic here. | | | Andy Watkinson Spain Local time: 06:19 Member Catalan to English + ...

Both are very sweet songs (I'm afraid I'm not able to explain in English the motives as I don't find the proper words). But both manage to calm me. A third one? "Prendre un enfant par la main" By the french Ives Duteil. I heard it for the first time in a coffee at the Quartier Latin. I was seventeen years old, and my father and I were on our first vacations in a foreign country. An old drunken lady, at 10 o'clock in the morning was singing the song, and my dad and I loved it inmediately. The second time we heard it was the next day, at Versailles. Besides the lyrics - it teaches us how to take care of a child - it has a soft and sweet music. I won't say that I remember this song every single day, but when I do, I remember one of the best vacations I had with my father, the beautiful days I spent with him, and that, in fact, I take my childs by the hand... I do what the song says. The song says (I found the translation at Internet): To take a child by the hand To take it along about tomorrow To give him confidence in its step To take a child for a king. < Regards Clarisa ▲ Collapse | | | Angela Arnone Local time: 06:19 Member (2004) Italian to English + ... "Colours" by Bob Dylan and "Strange Fruits" by Billy Holliday . For the lyrics which teach us a few things about history. | | | Can't say one | Feb 8, 2006 |
Well... Problem is I'm a dreaming soul who loves many (MANY) types of music, one for every moment, one for every mood, one for every day and so forth. The one currently sending the shockwaves up the spine for me is "Losing My Touch" for Toby Keith. Awesome country music, great lyrics, great voice and just mesmerizing. But then again that's just me | |

Or that beautiful duet by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion "The Prayer", where they both variously sing in Italian and English. To name just three of many.
