Knife for cutting wedding cake, with two handles
NOVELTY – The cake knife is made with two handles because of the superstition that when the cake is cut with a conventional knife, the bridegroom’s hand is placed on top of the bride’s hand, and this is taken to be symbolic of who will have the upper hand in the marriage. With two parallel handles, the bride and groom can grip one handle each and neither will be able to claim the upper hand over the other.
USE – For cutting a wedding cake.
ADVANTAGE – Politically correct.
DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS – The drawing shows the two-handled knife.
