I've just run a seach with my own name:

The results: 114 hits (including the Proz-related ones)

People with the same name: 6
An agronomist
A doctor
The mayor of a small italian town
An engineer
A policeman
A teacher

What about yours?

lucky you :) Apr 19, 2007

lucky you, I'd sayicon_smile.gif
google search with my name returns almost 2000 results in Polish (my native lang.) and 720 in wholl Web (strange, isn't it?icon_smile.gif) but I'm only like 20 of them... the rest is mainly a musician, a historian and other...

do you know
enter your term and your colleague's, bet a beer (or whatever you want) on which one comes more or less often, and win (or loose)icon_smile.gif good way to check who of your friends is more famous than youicon_smile.gif

Close shave ... Apr 19, 2007

164 hits using my married name (not all me but too tired now to see what my namesakes get up to ... looooong day).

Under my maiden name, "I" narrowly escaped beheading in Saudi Arabia for allegedly killing a colleague.

None other than me Apr 19, 2007

There are only about 15 people in the world with my last name (that I know of), and none with the same first name I have. I would be REALLY surprised just to randomly run across someone with my last name.

Interesting exercise... Apr 19, 2007

Someone who died (aged 30-ish) of consumption in Dublin in 1925 before a £25 payment authorised by the President could reach him (interesting story, that);
a member of the Armagh Rhymers;
the owner of Kilbline Castle, Co. Kilkenny for a brief period in the 17th century until he forfeited it (he also owned Rathardmore Castle but within a few years it was in ruins - typical!);
a songwriter;
a facilities manager for RADA;
a policeman;
a Canadian teacher;
an Australian doctor;
and some random person who came a rather mediocre 155th in the 1986 Cork City Marathon.

So my namesakes have had rather mixed fortunes... it'd be interesting to get them together for a "reunion"!

I've always suspected you of that colleague-killing incident...:)

My problem is anything with Marsha and way together comes up.
There are streets named Marsha Way in Sharpsburg, GA and San Jose, CA (if anyone can get me a street sign, I'd be grateful!!)
Marsha's way of ...
an article I wrote about distance ed. in about 2000
and an EVP my son recorded in his room (want to hear something spooky, go to , paranormal phenomena , and listen!)

I love to do this every once and a while (I wish I could say this was my first time...)

Google "promises" about 11,000, but when you get down to the nitty gritty, they peter out at only 45 and say they have omitted the other similar results. And one of them is not me!

This is an exercise in vanity - I'm there 12.700 times. Lots of messages on forums etc though.
And apparently, I'm the only one with my name on the net.

Joni & I Apr 20, 2007

I get 22.100 hits...
From the first page:
- me (5)
- soprano singer (2)
- "find a grave contributor" (1)
- Stephen King character (1)
- interior designer/color consultant (1)

then, scanning randomly some of the other pages, I see that Joni Mitchell's real name is also Roberta Anderson, and I like that!

OK, First three pages is Ritu Bhanot (yours truly). But after that there are combinations of Ritu and some other surname. Ritu is a very common first-name in India...
