Tune in and donate some spiritual support!

I think that after the event, it is made available for 7 days global viewing here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b008tsm3.shtml?q=university%20challenge&go=Find%20Programmes&sco pe=iplayersearch&start=1&version_pid=b008tsl5

There is not supposed to be a break after 'sco' at the displayed end of that URL, so just highlight the whole thing and paste it.

You are quite right, Özden, although I cannot figure out why this is, given everything I can watch/ download from elsewhere. I assume that the BBC holds the rights to the programmes it produces?

Anyway: onto the report.

It was a real 'cliffhanger'.

Both teams pitched in well and if I remember correctly, Manchester was in the lead before 'halfway house'. At that time, however, Oxford started forging ahead vigorously and continuing to widen their lead. Into the last quarter, Manchester picked up a lot of lost ground and were flying high towards the end. Given an extra ten minutes, I reckon they could have won, but sadly this was not to be.

Sounds almost like the summary of a football match!

The presenter congratulated Manchester on putting up a very good score not just last night, but also cumulatively throughout the series.

It should be said that Andrew supplied many of his team's correct answers and throughout the contest, the other members seemed to develop a habit of looking at him to either find the answer or seek agreement for their respective suggestions.

I was reminded of a fellow Prozian with whom I was recently working on a multi-lingual project. As we variously corrected remarkable errors in the source text, she mentioned that our dear client should be eternally grateful for the fact that a good translator also requires extensive general knowledge.

This was proved in abundance by Andrew throughout this series.

Well done, mate!
