Hi!

Could anybody recommend a reasonably priced hotel / bed and breakfast for just one night in Birmingham? Nothing fancy.

My husband and I will be spending one Saturday night there, on our way to Wales.

I could always use any of the websites I usually turn to for accommodation, but I thought maybe somebody here knew of a place that is ok and not too expensive.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Rosa

https://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hotel/hotel.php?hotel_id=109 - depending on the date, you can get a double for between 29 and 61 pounds sterling. The first is the "supersaver" booking price for a long time in advance, and the latter is the highest possible for this hotel. This is per room rather than per person.

I don't know B'ham myself so I don't know if this is a good location.

In general Travelodges, if they are in the right place for you, can be wonderful value for families (up to two children under 16 alongside parents), if you catch their offers.

Thanks! Mar 8, 2008

It seems that a room there will cost us 71 pounds (no breakfast) and it is a central location.

No children to make it better value.

I wish I could find something cheaper...

Have a nice weekend!

The rates do vary a lot with these hotels, and you're obviously trying for a peak time.
Sorry not to have been more help.

With or without car? Mar 10, 2008

That is the question....
because with car it is relatively easy to find some place in the area, but you shouldn't go into the centre unless parking is ensured at the hotel.

Without car, you would want to be near the station you arriving to, or departing from.

I am sorry that I can't help personally, but do look at the internet, there is so much information on hotels, and a lot of reviews as well.

I was just asking in case somebody knew of some place they had been to.

I find all accommodation on the Internet, that's no big deal. Just wondering if somebody could recommend a place because they had visited there or lived nearby.

Have a nice week!

Rosa
