Question About Correct Display of Malayalam

I'm having some disagreement between two linguists about the proper font for Malayalam. One of the linguists is suggesting that our Malayalam is not displaying correctly and that the Unicode standards have recently been updated. I need an independent third source to verify that the Malayalam text I've already delivered to the client is displaying correctly.

Are there specific fonts we should be using in Word, Excel or other Microsoft products so we can be sure we are using the right one?

Also, this text will be copied and pasted into the client's database and I am concerned it will not display correctly there either.

http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0D00.pdf (June 2014, should be the latest)
