Hi all, For years, I have faithfully opened all outgoing work prior to pressing 'Send', just to be on the safe side. Suddenly, they won't open. (Outlook Exress 6, Win XP SP2.) Has anyone else experienced this and/or knows how to give the computer an appropriate kick? TIA Chris

Nothing at all? An error message?

tlmurray wrote: Nothing at all? An error message? Thanks for your reply. If I click on the attached file icon in the mail that's ready to send then nothing happens. No error message, no rude Microsoft alarm noises. Just zilch (or 'bugger all' as we say over here). Cheers Chris

Safety settings in OE or IE? | Apr 23, 2006 |
I would blame it on SP2 and/or automatic upgrades (but maybe this is only a prejudice). Or maybe an unregistered file extension of the attachement? And you are aware that you have to double-click it, not just click? And of course you have tried Bill's universal remedy (restart the computer)?

So far: *.doc, *.ppt, *.pdf *.jpg to name a few..... And you are aware that you have to double-click it, not just click? I've tried single, double, and higher And of course you have tried Bill's universal remedy (restart the computer)? Soft reboot, hard reboot. Nix. Thanks, though, duckie Cheers, Microfrusti P.S. Do you have any games installed? | Apr 26, 2006 |
I had a similar experience with my FXdirect client and the Unreal Tournament online game: I have to avoid opening them in the same windows session.

Sure, I once landed a Cessna on an aircraft carrier with Flight Sim after a mere 10 approaches, but - having learned that every aircraft landing is in fact a controlled crash - I became a bad passenger and decided not to steal Tom Cruise's thunder after all. Seriously though, I expect it's to do with the dual-monitor aspect. It does have its quirks (e.g. some applications won't open in stereo [e.g. Excel]). Chris
