How to change the appearance of comments in MS Word?

At the moment in Word I am making comments in a document as part of a proofreading task. The comments appear at the bottom of the screen, much like footnotes. I know that it is possible to change this so that the comments are found in a speech bubble at the side of the page, which would be my preference. How do I go about doing this?

Thanks for any help with this, which is greatly appreciated.

This is only a question of how they are displayed Jul 4, 2007

the comments stay the same.

Switch to the view "Print Layout" or "Web Layout".
If the comments do not show in bubbles proceed as follows:

Activate the toolbar Revision. pull down the Show menu and select Options. Under Balloons activate "Use balloons in Print and Web Layout" and adjust the settings to your liking.

Click "OK" and the balloons should be displayed in Bubbles if your in one of the Layout views.
