Hi! None of the links here have a working Finnish spell check dictionary: http://www.omegat.org/en/howtos/spelling.html

Help! Where can I find one?

OmegaT uses Hunspell for spell checking.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a Hunspell Finnish dictionary.

Voikko is not compatible with Hunspell, as explained in the link.

http://voikko.sourceforge.net/. It works with open office but not with OmegaT as far as I know, Might not be what you are looking for.

Apparently, some Myspell dictionaries are available.

They have been tested, and (although they might not be very good), they seem to work in OmegaT.

Thanks! Mar 14, 2012

Thanks again, especially to Didier! The Myspell dictionary indeed works, although it's not very good... Great community, I'll be sticking around!

Wordfast Pro has one (but it's useless) Mar 17, 2012

Actually, there is one in Wordfast Pro. The problem is: it only works nominally and it's useless in practice. Here is a small clip I recorded quite a while ago:

The Finnish Hunspell "checker" reports lots of perfectly valid words as misspelt.

Terminology recognition with Finnish Mar 17, 2012

Graeme: since I noticed you have Finnish as source language, let me hijack this thread and ask you whether you have been able to get terminology recognition to work with Finnish. I haven't been able to make any sense of this "tokenizer" business in OmegaT. Since I saw you're also using Wordfast Classic, you probably know how easy it is to set up terminology recognition for Finnish in Wordfast. This is why I'd imagine you'd expect the same level of functionality in OmegaT.
