Hello,

I just finished my first project using TTX files in OmegaT, by adding a pluggin through Okapi. After delivering the TTX target files, for some reason the client is not to able to get those files to open with the Trados Tag Editor program to convert the files into their original format. Is there a way to do conversion using the Omega files and the TM or convert those files to the original formats (Word, PPT)?

We should have a poll Oct 14, 2013

We should really have a poll "Have you ever successfully translated a TTX file in OmegaT that the client was able to use in the same way as if you had translated it in TagEditor".

Is there a way to do conversion using the Omega files and the TM or convert those files to the original formats (Word, PPT)?

If your client is willing to send you the original Word and PowerPoint files, you can make sure they are in DOCX and PPTX format and then translate them directly in OmegaT, using the TM that you created while you translated the TTX files. You'd still have to check them afterwards in Word and PowerPoint to make sure that the layout and formatting is correct.

Only TagEditor can convert the TTX file back to the original format. All other CAT tools that "supports" TTX can translate the TTX file but can't convert it to the original format.

If you want, you can send me the original TTX file and the TTX file that you sent back to the client, and I'll have a look at what might be wrong, since I have both OmegaT and TagEditor.

Samuel
