I am using OmegaT 3.5.2.
In order for generation of vertical comparison of source and target contents in terms of paragraph, I choose paragraph segmentation way (by unchecking sentence based segmentation). In translation, I press "SHIFT+ENTER" at the end of each source content (it is propagated in target segment directly), followed by writing target content.
After completion of translation, I export (Ctrl+D) document. However, in each paragraph of the exported document (WORD docx file), there is connected source content and target contents for each paragraph. The source content and the target content are concatenated with a space, instead of a soft return (SHIFT+ENTER) or a general return (ENTER).
Do I lose any configuration?
Thank you!

That's a "feature" of Microsoft's format.

In Options > File Filters, check Preserve spaces for all tags.

Does not work as desired Nov 16, 2015

[SHIFT+ENTER] in OmegaT target segment does not induce a soft return tag (^l) in docx Word file even though "Preserve spaces for all tags" is checked in Options > File Filters before importing source file.

Is there any other method, plug-in or script such that in the output (exported) file, a paragraph of source content remains, followed by its corresponding paragraph of target content, and then the next paragraph of source content, followed by its corresponding paragraph of target content, and so on, so that reviewers could review paragraph by paragraph vertically?

Yes, sorry, you are right. "Preserve spaces" preserve the number of whitespace characters, but they are all considered spaces by Word.

You could use any character(e.g., "#") between source and target paragraphs, and then do a search and replace in the target Word document.

Workable idea Nov 17, 2015

Dear Didier,

This is a great idea, and was a method I used in writing investment analysis program using Perl few years ago. It shoud be workable in Word, too. How come I forget this method.

Thank you for reminder very much.

Best regards,
Kepler
