Becoming an official freelancer in Poland (how/where to register/start)

Recently I moved to Poland for studying and I also would like to register myself as a freelancer but officially. Anybody can help me how to start and where should I go to do it? My friends in Spain and Italy have done it there (it's called "autónoma" there) but I have no idea about Poland?
