"Collaborate" is a big word Sep 20, 2010

But I occasionally refer clients to translators in other language combinations. I see this as a service to the client and the few colleagues on my referrals list may benefit from it. I occasionally get such a referred client, too, and once or twice a year I get an order from it. That is as far as my "collaboration" with fellow translators goes.

Cooperating is a different thing altogether: when I get an assignment from a translation agency, is that collaboration or working for that agency? I see it as the latter, but one can argue it is a form of cooperation.

Certainly more than 2 years ago. I have established good work relationships with some colleagues I trust, and for particular projects I ask for their adivce, or also for a complete proofreading, obviously paid, and I do the same for them.

No teamwork for me, I work alone. On the other hand, I don't mind helping colleagues at Proz.
