Large, clunky and wired. I'm much less dextrous with the button type and I just don't "get" touch screens either.

Wired Jun 3, 2012

Wireless mouses are more affordable now. I still haven't bought one of them yet, though. The wired ones are still cheaper.

...between a wired/wireless mouse and an integrated one in order to vary the repeated movements I make and avoid strain. Happiest with a wireless mouse.

I use a laptop touchpad. Is that an 'integrated mouse' or 'other'?

Wired trackball mouse Jun 3, 2012

Originally had a wireless one but it wasn't reliable. Have had no trouble with wired one. Maybe the wireless ones have improved since I had one.

I use both... wired for the desktop and wireless for the laptop. I agree with Jack - wireless ones are not as reliable. I had a bluetooth Logitech mouse (not a cheap one) die on me while I was travelling a couple of months ago. Always a good idea to have a back-up wired mouse wherever you go.

By the way, touchpads are not for me.

I use two computers all the time and sometimes another right next to these.

A proliferation of mouse tails would drive me crazy and make me more likely to try out Ty's dormouse recipe. I think it would go down well with a devilish little "mice en bouteille mousseux" à votre santé icon_biggrin.gif

Small edit

So do I, which is why I use laptops fitted with pointing sticks (aka TrackPoints etc).

Trackball Jun 3, 2012

I always use a trackball since I bought the first one, maybe 20 years ago.

I used this one for ages, until Windows XP updates made it no longer accept a serial mouse. Replacing three internal rollers - which I did several times - would make it last forever.

Then, after extensive research, a couple of years ago I changed to this one. Took me a while to get used to the smaller ball, but the scroll ring is addictive. Apparently this one lasts forever, requiring only minor cleanup now and then.

I've always have a hard time using conventional 'mice' (?) from the days of the Apple IIe, and notebook touchscreens are even worse for me.

Wireless Trackball (better when scroll wheel included) Jun 3, 2012

I find a trackball mouse most ergonomic for the usual office work.

As with the trackball you don^' t have to move the mouse, it's not important wether it's wireless or not. As soon as I find a special offer, I will upgrade to a Trackball Mouse which also includes a wheel for scrolling. These types are rather expensive.

Trackpad Jun 3, 2012

I have mastered the trackpad on my MacBookPro...took awhile, but it works fine for me.
