Interesting that there is no option for "most of them" or "all of them"! I've met most of mine at one time or another, and it has always helped cement the relationship. I suspect that's not down to my natural charm and charisma so much as simply putting a face to a name.

Unless we count friends, who at some point needed a translation or proofreading services.

Same answer as I gave the last two times this question was asked. Almost all of my clients are juristic persons, which makes meeting them in person a physical impossibility!

Just like I had answered the above previous polls.
But as I remember it, my original question was whether you have physically visited your clients (which of course can be understood as 'meeting the client in person'). But I was more wondering - if you had visited their premises (location, standard, size) - seen how many they were - got a feeling of their workflow etc., etc. I have only visited one client in a neighboring town, who (despite an ambitious company name) turned out to be only one guy ru... It can be hard to tell. Oh, have I visited my clients' premises? A very few times, for a variety of reasons, but I almost always communicate with clients' staff at a distance (via email or phone).
I met some clients in my own home, others I met in their offices/places.

No and I don't wish to | Oct 9, 2013 |
I think it is a good idea to maintain a clear divide between business and social contacts. The only time I relaxed this rule and added a PM to Facebook, I had to "unfriend" her for posting unsuitable content. Nuff said! Steve K.

Besides the obvious (nearby acquaintances who bring me certificates and the like to be translated), I now talk to one client on another continent by video on Skype. We know what each other's workplaces look like, and talk eye-to-eye, but have never met in person.

Since almost all of them are based in Japan. Meeting customers face to face is how business is traditionally done over here. Also, looking them square between the eyes gives me an opportunity to size up the scale of their operations, gauge how much work I can expect to get from them and get a better idea of how organized they are. I like well-organized customers since they will ensure that you get paid on time.
