Oh, probably only if I have to when new customers ask for it.
Nothing really changes in it so I have not done anything with it for the past 8 years

Whenever I need to Nov 6, 2014

If I have new things to add and am being wooed by new customers.

And, I'm doing so right now because the J>E translation market in Japan is taking a beating and the government is going to raise the consumption tax another 2% soon which will make manufacturers even more hesitant to outsource work and tightfisted.

So, Holmsey is on another aggressive sales offensive

I'm adding 'automotive translation' which I've been doing almost non-stop for the past two years. I'll also strip out and add on new things to make my skill set sound more appealing and more in-line with the business operations of specific customers.

Quite rarely, actually - I tend to have other more pressing things to do.

Since my business brochures (CV) only reflect a summary of my projects, there's hardly any need for updates.

As I have said before (this same question has been asked at least 3 times: 2008, 2011 and 2012): only when there is something to change...

Actually... Nov 6, 2014

My CV updates like my yearly social security report. After a brief period of shifting employments, it just goes on adding freelance days.

I suppose you reach a point when you no longer care to impress. Take it or leave it, I'll update when I have the time... or when a special project comes along.

I don't, I'm not looking for employment Nov 6, 2014

I run an independent business and am not planning to seek employment any time soon, so I have no need for a CV. I update my website regularly, though, and that is where I direct any potential clients who can find all relevant information about me there...

What cv? Nov 6, 2014

Don't have one. Never really needed one. The only times I've had to submit a cv has been for jobs that never materialised.

Same here. Voted "other" because it was not possible to mark "never".
I am a service provider since almost thirty years.

The last time I updated my cv was years ago, but this was for a long and outstanding client who needed it for an EU-application which never materialized.

So I just have a small business flyer indicating languages and specializations.

I don't see how I could update my CV after 41 years of experience.

When I obtain a new credential Nov 7, 2014

I imagine CV as a "bite" to catch a fish and will continue to update when I obtain a new credential.
