Companies are not eager to pay for your work - I have to laugh sometimes when I see their proposals. I just accept the highest possible amount and it is OK for me for the time...

... anything comes up in between. I update my résumé annually because the year shows up at the top and I don't want to give the impression to potential clients that I don't care enough to update it annually, or that I've been out of circulation too long. If anything comes up in the meantime, I will also go online and add the latest news.

Yes, I may start to work in a different field, but is it really of any benefit to inform everyone that I'm now somewhat of an expert in forklift trucks? I prefer to keep the profile fairly vague.

It doesn't seem to be worth the bother anyway since nobody reads it. Or why else would someone ask me to do a legal Swedish-German translation? I don't think that I mentioned 'legal translations' anywhere in my profile...
