Hi, I don't quite get the idea of what 'demanding' means here. Demanding quality? Demanding attention? I guess each client is demanding as it expects quality and punctual delivery:) I answered as if it read: "How likely would you work with an annonying client again?"

I voted Unlikely, although I would have voted NEVER for one of the two adjectives. I can handle demanding clients (although I prefer lovely ones ), but if I ever meet an annoying client... I will do my best never to meet him/her again. Au | | | Same as Aurora | Aug 3, 2006 |

We would first have to define the terms. I do not mind demanding clients (who demand punctuality, precision, quality, perfection). If demanding means annoying, my answer is NEVER. What I usually do is giving them the addresses of other translation agencies to make sure they leave me alone! But don't be afraid, dear colleagues: I only give them the addresses of translation agencies that I know are unprofessional or have unpleasant owners!! | |

I have to admit to having mixed feelings about demanding. On the one hand, their insistance on details, important and unimportant, can add significant time to any project. On the other hand, demanding clients have helped me raise my own standards and gotten me many clients. If you can please the demanding client, they often recommend you. Their praise is well earned and very valuable. As for annoying, it all depends in which way. Stephen Rifkind | |

And as for Derek's comment re: paying well... Usually clients who are demanding, annoying, unreasonable, unhappy etc. - usually these people tend to find/invent some "problems or issues" and delay payment, or make a partial payment - or indeed no payment at all! So I would never again (based on my prior experience) work for unreasonable & annoying clients - even if they promise me a lot of money. Even if they pay in advance (and they never do - not even a partial prepayment. This is a very good indicator of future "issues" with payment).
