During the past two months, I suddently received enquiries from clients abroad one after another. I was flooded with work and that was from just from 5-6 new contacts. So, there is reason to hope for the best next year... Pundora | | | Hopefully, a lot better! | Dec 17, 2006 |
To be honest, this year has been a very good one for me, for I have finished my two degrees in interpretation and translation. At the same time, I've been able to interpret professionally, and I am now working on my first paid translation. Next year, however, I'll make myself known to translation/interpretation agencies and I expect to have my own clients as well. Hopefully, it will be a year of professional growth and development. ... I think... it will be better! | Dec 17, 2006 |
In reality I voted "I don't know" but I am very positive person and I hope many important things for next year. On the other hand, it's a plan because you won't know how the future is and there are lots of possibilities, it can be better, worst or the same thing. [Edited at 2006-12-17 17:29] It's curious: My wife, who is also a Geminis, told that 2007 will be great for her a few days ago. I'm going to consult the site you're recommending... Must see what that site says about Cancerians This year has been very busy indeed. Mind you, I found myself twiddling my thumbs for about 2 weeks after I came back from holidays in November. Things have picked up since then, I am happy to say. In May 07, I will complete my postgrad Diploma in Irish Gaelic, excellent timing because Irish Gaelic will become the 21st official language of the EU on 1.1.07...... Hopefully as good as always... but I answered "Don't know" | Dec 18, 2006 |
We have been lucky to be very busy ever since we started 10 years ago. Our customer base is rather stable, so we can reasonably expect that next year will be good one... but we never know! Too many factors apply... including the Spanish Christmas lottery on Dec 22nd which, in case we win with our company number, might completely change the way we work!

that's me. So I answered DK - just to ward off bad luck. But keeping fingers crossed | | | I don't know but I'll have a guess... | Dec 18, 2006 |

I hope the horoscope is true and I get some fascinating art objects next year, but.... perhaps they could come to me so that I can have plenty of work? Well, i've checked the horoscope for cancerian as well on a different website and was relieved to read that 2007 is supposed to be calm, with a little less work (which is not that bad!) and with plenty of new opportunities... If it can be added to the "fascinating art objects" I'm quite confident it'll be a good year! It can hardly be better than 2006 as this past year was already really good. I'm a very optimistic person so I wouldn't worry to much...Let's wait and see what happens | |

Tim Drayton Cyprus Local time: 23:05 Turkish to English + ... I am experiencing unprecedented demand | Dec 18, 2006 |
The translation sector is really divided into lots of little segments based on language pairs and areas of specialisation within those pairs. In the area of financial/legal Turkish into English translation, which is clearly a pretty esoteric field for the vast majority of people consulting this thread, there has been an exponential growth in demand over the past couple of years... See more The translation sector is really divided into lots of little segments based on language pairs and areas of specialisation within those pairs. Small shifts in the balance between supply and demand in one particular segment can result in quite spectacular change. In the area of financial/legal Turkish into English translation, which is clearly a pretty esoteric field for the vast majority of people consulting this thread, there has been an exponential growth in demand over the past couple of years and the signs are that this trend will continue over the next year (this statement is based purely on my own workload and the fact that I am fully booked until the end of January already). I am not sure if this relates to the doubling of Turkey's GDP over the past few years or the prospect of Turkish EU accession, but it is happening. I remember a time in about 2000 or 2001 when even inquiries about translation from Turkish came sporadically, and then there was a severe economic crisis in Turkey at the end of 2001 and work dried up entirely such that I had to go and teach English in Qatar! I am enjoying these changed days. ▲ Collapse | | | An educated guess: worse | Dec 18, 2006 |
in terms of bottom line, but far better for my mental health. At least that's how I see 2007, but this doesn't mean, expressly or implicitly, that I won't go nuts by the end of next year. Have a good week, Philippe | | | A better year with more networking | Dec 18, 2006 |
Better!!:-) Believing in self-fulfilling prophecies: I have to answer better. 2007 will start under ideal conditions for me: - Growing network of lovable colleagues (thanks to Powwows). - More and more cooperation with first rate agencies represented by friendly and fair project managers.
