I'm never bored! Feb 10, 2008

My real answer is that I "never" go out on a Saturday night. However, I marked "other" because I didn't like the reasons given for "never"--too busy, too tired, too bored?

I'm always busy; I take time off anyway to do the things I like.
I'm not usually tired, except in a good way; I have learned to get my 8 hours of sleep.
I'm never bored! Unless I'm trapped, as in a dull meeting. And even then I'm OK if I have paper and pen and I'm not on the platform.

Why don't I go out on Saturday night? Because my husband and I enjoy a quiet evening at home in the cool evening air, eating supper (usually the only night of the week that I, personally, cook a real meal), watching a movie, and going to bed early because we have a 45-minute drive to church on Sunday morning.

Call me weird. I'm happy!

If I go out on evening, it depends if I want to go or where I want to go, not if it's Saturday. So if it happens to be Saturday - then sometimes yes, I go out on Saturday

That's usually what my Saturday evenings/nights are like, except that it's the only night I go to bed really late. On weekdays I wake up really early to start work, so I go to bed early as well.

Saturday night? Are you joking? Feb 10, 2008

The working work starts here at 6 p.m. on a Friday evening and runs through till about noon on Tuesday, without any breaks....

A more pertinent question would be, "Do you go out on a Wednesday evening?". Midweek is the quietest time, usually.

At present I never go out on Saturday night, wish to go out with boyfriend on Saturday night Feb 10, 2008

I would like to go out on Saturday night with the man of my dreams. This man lives in the same town as me.
When I was younger and I used to study at the University of Acqui Terme (BA in Translation and Interpreting), I often saw him at the weekends with my University colleagues on Saturday night and on Thursdays, in the afternoon, when I was alone walking down Garibaldi avenue, one of the most picturesque places in Italy.

After a period of health problems during which I was in hospital, I have lost contact with him.
I wish I could go out with him on Saturday night to the cinema Ariston to see a love-story because I am fed up with discos or female friends. I need this man because he's always on my mind, he has blue eyes, he's blond, extremely nice, mysterious and make my heart beat....
If only he could invite me out on Saturday night, I would be the happiest woman on earth

What's that? Feb 10, 2008

We've never dealt with babysitters since we came to the UK, so going anywhere without my three kids is out of the question.
And I don't miss a thing. Last summer, on holidays in Egypt with my parents, my mum said she'd take care of the kids and "forced" me to go out for a quiet dinner with my husband. I felt so WEIRD and found it really hard to relax...
The last 50 movies I've been to were kids' movies, the last 100 parties I've been to were kids' birthday parties.

Maybe in a few years' time when the kids are out of the house...

My week looks much the same, actually - Wednesday is often my day to go shopping, meet friends, etc!

I usually do my best work over the weekend Feb 10, 2008

So I work until late and unless there is a specific 'thing'we are invited to, hubby and I spend Saturday evening quietly - hence the 'rarely'reply.

As Astrid says, it's quieter during the week!

Any time - but not on Saturdays Feb 10, 2008

I don't like crowds and on Saturday nights, the best bars and restaurants are populated by tourists and youngsters. Urgh! Downtown is not the same.. Grown-ups and real Portlanders are going out during the week.

Grandma or my sister sometimes babysit Feb 10, 2008

And then we do go out, but it's not very often. Next Saturday night out isn't until end of March (opera), but next night out is on Thursday.... because romance is not dead yet!

Never or only exceptionally Feb 10, 2008

I used to be a real socialiser in the past, but that was when I lived in the city. I can't say I was happier for it. I'm the kind of person who likes having people round or having a quiet night in. I'm often tired after my week's work and Saturday night is my big relaxation moment. If I'm not tired then I'm busy, but not translating - I'm out and about in my garden or with my dog.
