It's true I don't go out too much on Saturdays now, because we have two children and, although my mum always offers to babysit, we don't really feel the need to. What we do is to go out for a drink on Friday evening, after a long working week, and, from time to time, we go out for dinner with friends - with or without kids. This does not mean we get bored at all, or we don't know how to enjoy life! We do sports, go to the mountains or to the beach, organise day trips with family or... And we prefer to go out for a meal/drink when the restaurants/bars/streets aren't full of people, so we very rarely go out on a Friday/Saturday night. | |

Sometimes I work too much during the week, and I need a day - or a night - to relax, go out, talk with strange people in strange places, or just to appreciate the city. Like Jane, I voted 'Other' because the reasons for answering 'Never' did not apply. I have never been much of a party goer and I hate smoky and noisy places, where you cannot have a decent conversation. I prefer a quiet dinner with friends. Last Saturday, we had some old friends coming over for an elaborate dinner and did a lot of catching up. ...much of my work comes in at the weekend so I often work Friday or Saturday. However, I co-run a pub quiz in English for a mixed nationality crowd on Sunday evenings so that means I HAVE to go out and socialise at least once a week. I get free drinks as well as a fee, and a chance to catch up with all my friends and colleagues who come along. Anybody is welcome, it's on Sundays at 7pm in Sally O'Briens pub in Avenida Aragon, Valencia, Spain, check it out if you are in the area...
