Thursday night drinks prior to the conference Sep 22, 2006

Dear All,
I'm pleased to inform you that Rebekka and I have hired a separate room at the Grape bar in the centre of Edinburgh for some pre-conference warm-up drinks. Having said that, the event is open to ALL ProZians, their guests and other language specialists who happen to be in the area, but may not wish to sign up for the conference. The entry is FREE, but everyone will be expected to pay for their own drinks or snacks. So if you're not planning to attend the conference, you're still more than welcome to join in and benefit from an evening of networking and socialising. The main purpose of the event is to mingle and get to know the crowd rather than a sit-down meal, so we haven't made any specific dinner arrangements. Food ranging from shared platters to sandwiches, burgers, salads and various main courses will be available to order, but you might equally choose to go out for dinner first and join us for drinks later.

Further details:
Grape
13 St Andrews Square, New Town, Edinburgh EH2 2PA
MAP: http://www.edinburgh-festivals.com/cityguide.cfm?subtype=eat-restaurant-british&vid=1615

Time: from 8pm onwards

Please let us know, if you're planning to attend and bring some guests, so that we can get an idea about numbers.

We look forward to meeting you!
Katharina & Rebekka

BrowniZ and ID verification Nov 7, 2006

Dear All
Those of you who have attended powwows before will probably know that powwow attendance is awarded with BrowniZ. If you'd like to take advantage of this, please have your ProZ ID number with you on Thursday night. There'll be a table with attendance sheets where you can enter your name and ProZ ID number. We will file an attendance report after the conference - don't think we'll manage before

Also, you can have your ID verified on this occasion. Registered users may have their identities verified by displaying photo ID to the designated representatives. There will be quite a few of us in attendance who are empowered to verifiy IDs, Rebekka and Enrique, to name just two.

Best regards

Rebekka and Katharina

You two have been brilliant at organising this and making sure everything worked to the smallest detail during the conference (which was extremely interesting and fun). Top marks, ladies!

Fantastic conference Nov 13, 2006

I've attended many conferences and translator events, but I can honestly say that I haven't enjoyed any of them as much as this, my first ProZ conference. Roll on Budapest!
xx

I never thought that a conference for translators can be so amusing! Still not sure about Budapest, but eventually I might be tempted to go there as well!

energizing Nov 13, 2006

Not only did I learn much more than I dared to hope, I enjoyed myself more than I ever thought possible! Met so many great people and am even more motivated and enthused about my profession than I was before the conference! Kudos to you both for putting on an excellent event! I'm going to do my best to be in Budapest in 2007!
Thanks again!
