Hi all!

Zero hour is approaching and I badly need to give the Jurys Inn guys a precise figure!

All those who haven't done so yet: could you please please please confirm your attendance status on the powwow page or by sending me an email?

THANK YOU so much!
And see you there!

Ellie.

Hi Ellie,

A short note to say a big thank you for all your efforts in organising the pow wow. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and hope there's a repeat performance in the not too distant future.

Pictures available.... on demand... Nov 12, 2009

Hi lads! Hope you're all fine and working away on interesting projects!

I tried to upload pictures with no results, tried to get help from site staff to upload the pics, but they're just very big so nothing could be done.

If you're interested though, just let me know and I'll send them to you by e-mail. I'd love to share them with you.

Ellie.

Pics Nov 12, 2009

Some of the pics do not go through, even though they are not above the size limits. Please e-mail me to receive them all. Same if you do not want your picture to be published! Take care all, back in Dublin on the 1st of May 2010...

Another baby translator :-D Oct 22, 2009

Hi there,

I'll have to do exactly the same as Diana - I'll have my daughter with me until her dad can come and pick her up. She's a bit bigger thought, and I'm afraid she might be disruptive, but in that case I'll just leave the room with her.

See you all tomorrow,

Val

Thanks Ellie Oct 22, 2009

Thanks for your help Elli. That's real nice of you. However, I happened to find a babysitter yesterday so after all I'll be showing up all by myself, maybe a few minutes late.

Anna

What powwows are about... Sep 9, 2009

Hi Jessica,

Powwows are a great chance to discuss translation related matters with other professionals, a good way to compare methods and approaches of our daily routine with colleagues (which represent a recurrent daydream for some of us, as often, when we do share our work problems, we do it through the internet or on the phone) and finally a very good excuse to get away from deadlines and word counts and meet interesting new people, unwind and have some fun...

Have I lured you in yet?

This particular one will have a discussion topic: "The impact of ProZ.com on our work/world".

You can find many articles and forums about translators meetings on this site.

Hope to meet you soon!

Powwow time Sep 29, 2009

@ Sue:

not sure if you got my message so I'm posting here:

we'll meet at 5pm, but can be flexible (we can of course wait for "reasonable" latecomers before starting). Later on we can discuss venue and time changes if you like.

@Pauley: please do pop in and say hello!

Ok, I think we can proceed... Oct 1, 2009

Hello everyone!

Glad to see we've reached a good number for the Powwow to happen... So I guess I can now go on and chose a venue!

For Lawless and all the ones interested, please keep visiting this page for postings (anyway I will make sure to send messages to all of you, within a week from now, to let you know the "elected" place of the event).

Suggestions are welcome of course.

Meeting time is at 5, please let me know if you can't make it and we'll sort that out.

Valentina: bring your daughter with you!! The more the merrier!

It'll be great to meet you all!

Suggestion... Oct 2, 2009

I second Nora's suggestion - mad pubs on a Friday evening is not quite me (just through sheer volume of people, I've nothing against pubs in general!!).

Venue suggestions Oct 2, 2009

Thanks Nora and Sue, I will go and have a look and consider it as a choice...

No worries, wasn't going for the pubs and the likes anyway. Have a couple of places in mind that I'm going to check out these days... I'll let you know.

Keep them coming if you have them (suggestions)!
