Time to start brainstorming discussion subjects Sep 1, 2013

I am happy to say that we areprobably going to have quite a few colleagues attending from outside Proz as well. AUSIT will be organising some refreshments, but feel free to bring your own culinary touches to share if you would like.

It is time to start proposing subjects for discussion. We aim to have the event unstructured as much as possible, but some common threads to the discussion help the talk flow. Please start writing about what you would like to hear being raised at the POWOWS.

Thank you once again,

Sam Berner (AUSIT QLD) - organiser

Change of address for the POWOWS Sep 20, 2013

Hi all Prozians and colleagues

We were able to get a better venue for the POWOW, so please note the change of address:
Queensland Multicultural Centre
Level 2, 102 Main Street
Kangaroo Point QLD 4169

This is where NAATI offices used to be. Parking is available at the venue. See you all there!

Thank you for the organisation Oct 31, 2013

Hi Sam,

It was a great pleasure to meet you and all the organisers. I have managed to travel from southwestern Brisbane to Kangaroo Point to meet my translator colleagues and make contact since my work environment is rather 'anti-social'. I hope everyone who is new will be motivated in translation as it is a very rewarding profession for me and I would never leave it. I did work in the pharmaceutical, chemical industries; and this, together with my love for languages, helped me a lot.

Thank you all for coming Nov 1, 2013

It was an energising get together, and I was very privilaged to meet new people, new perspective and share new ideas. We are thinking of organising another one some time around April.
