Hi everyone

I seems to be getting more and more job offers in the localisation industry. I'm a qualified translator/interpreter with 13 years' full-time experience. Now I am keen to explore the possibilities of getting into the localisation industry. Do you know of any good online courses or institutions in Spain or the UK in this field or can you recommend any that lead to a recognised qualification? There seem to be so many definitions out there of what localisation is and I really want to start from the basics. Perhaps I even have some localisation experience myself but am not sure how to market it on my CV. For example, I was responsible for bringing an internationally-recognised haircare product to the Spanish market - from finding 12 suitable national distributors to adapting the English marketing campaign to the Spanish market, finding the PR agency, translating all the marketing material, etc. I have also translated numerous help files and pop up messages for software tools and online gaming. Does that count as localisation experience? Forgive my ignorance but I really want to know the concepts of localisation before I jump in with both feet. And if the above doesn't count as localisation experience, how do I get my foot in the door (it's the age-old question, isn't it?).

Thanks for all you help and advice.
