Last year, we surveyed members with regard to the payment and pricing policies for membership. As a result of your feedback, we are making a few adjustments to membership pricing.

* The cost of new memberships--for those in the euro zone--will decrease slightly.

* The cost of new memberships--for those outside the euro zone--will increase slightly.

* The cost of membership renewals, for all members, will increase slightly.

* Settlement fees will be absorbed by, rather than being added during the payment process.

* Browniz discounts will not be as deep as they have been.

The cost increases will be effective July 1. The cost decrease--for new memberships purchased from within the euro zone--is effective immediately.

Please note that these pricing adjustments represent a departure from the promise (made by me in the forums several years ago) of holding euro / usd rates on parity. However, I feel that this is the most appropriate step, and the step most in the interest of members, given the ongoing strength of the euro with respect to the dollar.

Please note also that going forward, specific pricing will be set for each currency (not only USD and EUR, but also other currencies), in consideration of not only exchange rates but also market conditions in the various areas where members reside. Exchange rates will not be the primary consideration.

Finally, on balance, these changes are more of an adjustment than an increase in membership fees. Membership fees have not changed in six years, even as the value delivered to members has increased substantially. Although we do not have any specific plans, it would be fair to assume that the current price levels will not be maintained indefinitely.
