I just got this message in front of me on a Fr-En question in one of my (reported) main fields (literary):

The asker has directed this question specifically to ProZ.com members who:
... are native speakers of English (You have reported that you are.)
Although you do not meet the criteria, you may suggest a translation if you like.

Can someone please explain what this means?
