Forums displaying items in reverse of usual order

Going into forum pages this evening, I am finding the oldest items at the top of the page that opens, and the newest at the bottom of the last page. Is this a bug or is it an experiment? If it is an experiment, I think the traditional way is better. Now, if for example I want to look at the latest page in the French forum, it comes up with page 1, the oldest items, and I have to go to the last page (page 7) and then to the bottom of the column to find the latest item.
