I was browsing some forums and found out that we have just one option to read posts. Right now, we can only read posts according to the date they were written, pressing "1 2 3 4 5 6 Next" or even "Last" if we consider a given post was written months or years ago.

My suggestion is that posts can be sorted according to the headers:
- Topic
- Poster
- Replies
- Views

Some posts are very popular and have countless replies. If we sort them according to this pattern, we could focus only in those posts who were hot at the moment. If we sort them according to the poster, we could track a given user well known by his/her knowledge in the field.

Wishful thinking May 4, 2009

When I proposed something similar some time ago [http://www.proz.com/forum/prozcom_suggestions/127583-repetitive_fora_topics_link_to_faq_related.html], I found out that this had been asked before. I hope some day this can be done; it would be of great help having a quicker access to some hot topics, etc.

Thanks for reminding it.

Oh May 4, 2009

Didn't now it was already posted....but still not implemented.

Right, a site like proz must be more dynamic in its post sorts, just like an excel-like datasheet.

Thanx, Elías.

Thanks for the suggestion May 5, 2009

Hi Yaotl, Hi Elías,

Thanks for the suggestion, it hasn't gone unnoticed. There have been a few suggestions about the need to improve the forum search. I have made a note of them and will update the search when I can (although I can't promise when that will be.)

Best,
Colin
