My e-mail account hosted by Proz.com worked very well so far, but it seems there is a problem now (I don’t know if it is necessarily related to the Proz hosting). The last e-mail I received is dated August 07. I should have received several e-mails this morning, but I received none. Does anybody else experience this problem?

Thanks,

Mihai

Me too Aug 8, 2006

Hi Mihai,

I have exactly the same problem, so it probably is related to the Proz hosting. I just submitted a support request, I hope they can figure this out quickly.

Regards,

Christine

Thanks Aug 8, 2006

Thanks for the confirmation, Christine, and for submitting the support request.
In the meantime, I called my client from whom I was supposed to receive a document and gave her my alternative e-mail.
Hopefully this problem will be solved soon.

Mihai

I can see my mails on webmail, but Thunderbird isn't receiving any and lots seem to have disappeared off the server - also submitting support request.

Issue being addressed Aug 8, 2006

Hi all,

First, please note that I've moved the topic to the forum "Proz.com Technical Support".

I have been experiencing the same problem since last night and had submitted a support ticket today. I have just been told that the staff is aware of the problem and addressing the issue right now. Let us hope it will be corrected the soonest.

Cheers!
Özden

I submitted a Support request before I saw this posting, I thought it's just me. There is no email arriving my inbox at all since last night 8pm. I know I have been sent emails and I have sent test emails myself to the address but they just disappear somewhere.

But I've already received an answer from support.

I think we European are a bit at a disadvantage since we have to wait until the sun is raising on the other side of Atlantic Ocean until we get some helpicon_frown.gif

Work around for getting your mail Aug 8, 2006

Hello all,

We recently upgraded to our new hosting server (everyone should have received an email about it), and it looks like some people's DNS servers have not updated with our new hosting server information yet. Your emails from the last couple days have not been lost, they should be waiting for you on our new hosting server.

Until everyone's DNS servers update with our new hosting server address, you can do one of the following to get your mail.

If you change your incoming mail server in your email account settings in Outlook or Thunderbird from 'mail.yourdomain.com' to 'blue.host.proz.com', you should be able to see your new email.

Also, you can login to your webmail via http://blue.host.proz.com:2082 , using your normal login and password, and click the 'Webmail' button. You should also be able to see your new email from here.

Let me know if anyone has any questions or concerns, and feel free to email me directly -- justin at proz dot com .

Best regards,
Justin

One question Aug 8, 2006

The tip worked for me (at least partialy because I received a few e-mails but some did not appear), but now I wonder: am I supposed to switch the blue.host.proz.com back to mail.domain.com after the change has effectively been implemented (I refer to the DNS servers info)?

Regards,

Charalambos

I would recommend switching back to mail.yourdomain.com tommorow Aug 8, 2006

Hi Charalambos,

I would recommend waiting until tommorow to switch your mail server back to mail.yourdomain.com , just to make sure that the DNS servers in your area have completly updated with the IP address changes.

Best regards,
Justin

The link does not work Aug 8, 2006

Justin, the link to access the webmail is not working. Is it incorrect or is it just so busy right now when everyone is trying to log into their emails?
