Stopping display of unwanted forums on the "recent posts" page (not the home page) Thread poster: Marie-Hélène Hayles
|
Since the Macedonian forum was created I have all the new discussions in there on my "recent posts" page (OK, there's only a couple so far, it's true). I'm sure it must be written somewhere, but I've looked through the Forum FAQs and rules and I can't find how to get rid of them. Does anyone know?

Hi Marie-Hélène, Just go to your profile, then go to the 'Settings' tab, and then go to 'Select forums to be listed on the home page'. HTH, Antoinette

It's under (just in) the box that contains the forum items on the homepage. You'll need to untick Macedonian and then click Update. I had the same problem this morning and solved it this way. Antoinette's idea will work, too. Guess she and I are both having a lunchbreak...

That only works for the home page | Oct 9, 2007 |
- not for the "most recent posts" page. There must be a way to do it as the only other non-English forum I see there is Italian.

Hi Marie-Hélène, you are right, I've still got Macedonian on that page too. I can't find how to change this. Perhaps we need to submit a support ticket? Best, Margreet

Hi All, Currently there is no way to display which forums are displayed on the "Most recent posts" page. I have tagged this post as a suggested feature. Thanks!

I'm just wondering, did the Macedonian forum come up automatically? I don't have any other 'foreign' forum apart from the ones I've chosen myself. Anyway, thanks for looking into it, I'll wait and see what you come up with. Have a nice day!

Anyway, thanks for looking into it, I'll wait and see what you come up with. Have a nice day! Hi Margreet, hi Marie-Hélène, Thanks for posting. The language had not been properly specified in the database. Things should be as normal now (although the suggestion to be more specific in postings shown on the "recent posts" page remains.)

Hi Marie-Hélène, Henry, this morning the Slovenian forum turned up in my customised list as well. I don't read Slovenian either (although it looks interesting). Should I submit a support ticket or does every newly created forum automatically turn up on everybody's list because of some default setting that has been overlooked? Thanks & have a nice day, Margreet

this morning the Slovenian forum turned up in my customized list as well I would NOT say it should be treated as "unwanted forums". If at all, then opt-out. ... it looks interesting ). share your opinion Vito PS: this is waaaay outdated, so best to ignore it.
