Hello all, The main submissions phase for the 2014 annual ProZ.com translation contest, Celebrations, is now closed. So far, 2,068 translators have participated, and there are 2,729 entries in 221 language pairs. The next phase, called the "Hybrid phase", is scheduled to open tomorrow, August 1st, and run until September 1st. During the Hybrid phase, individual language pairs can be placed in any of the Submission, Qualification, or Finals phases, depending on how many entries have been submitted: - Pairs which received fewer than 3 entries during the Submission phase will likely be placed in an "extended submission" period. If at least 3 entries are eventually submitted, the pair will be moved forward to the Finals phase.
- Pairs which received between 3 and 7 entries will likely be placed directly into the Finals phase, where site users who list that language pair in their profile may vote for what they feel are the best entries.
- Pairs which received more than 7 entries will likely be placed into the Qualification phase, where site users rate and tag entries in an effort to determine a smaller pool of entries which should move forward into the Finals phase.
If you have submitted an entry in a language pair that has received fewer than three entries, and you know colleagues who work in that pair who may be interested in participating, spread the word! The objective here is to ensure that each pair makes it to the next phase of the contest. If you need help with this, feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] and let's put our heads together on it (I'll be doing what I can on this end to reach the same goal). Thanks to everyone who has participated so far, and good luck in the contest! Jared | | | How to submit? | Jul 31, 2014 |
Hi Jared, How to submit entries for the below category? (System does not work now) - Pairs which received fewer than 3 entries during the Submission phase will likely be placed in an "extended submission" period. If at least 3 entries are eventually submitted, the pair will be moved forward to the Finals phase.
Thanks, M. Ali | | | The Hybrid phase will begin tomorrow | Jul 31, 2014 |
Hello M. Ali, The contest is paused now between phases. They Hybrid phase, where those pairs which received fewer than 3 entries will go into extended submission, will start tomorrow. Jared | | | There is a problem | Jul 31, 2014 |

Jared I think you should delay visibility of all entries during the extended submission period for the pairs with less than 3 entries. There are a lot of multilingual people here, if you open the hyrbrid phase people in the pairs with extended submission will have unfair advantage. They will see all interpretations in other pairs and they still can submit an entry. Please extend the submission for the Pairs which received fewer than 3 entries, only for 48 hurs and during this period do not make anything visible. This is important. Please consider. Best, M.
