Categorized news stories will be shown in relevant site areas (for example, news about Canada could be shown in the Canada forum, and news about Wordfast could be shown in the Wordfast forum). RSS feeds will also be available. This feature is currently available for beta testing. If you're interested in helping to test out this new feature, please try it out using the link below and then share your thoughts here. Click here to access the translation news page. In addition, if you know of any authoritative translation news source that may be good to include in the aggregated news feed, please suggest it in this forum topic. I'm currently working on a feature to allow ProZ.com users to submit their own news stories. I'll post here when that's available. In the mean time, please try it out and let me know what you think. Hi Gastón! Are we talking about the "tell a friend" feature that was announced for certified Proz only by Jon Pek on January 14 (i.e. Share This) or is this something different? If so, I share some of the same concerns expressed by some of our colleagues about intellectual property rights and would like to know how Proz is going to handle that. If so, as the author of several articles I would like to read a copy of the new agreement. Where can I see that? Either way, a feature that lets us quickly share interesting articles on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter is a great idea and I totally welcome it. I think it gives us a chance to expand our work beyond our usual circles and reach many more people. I'll definitely try it as soon as I'm sure intellectual property rights are being respected. Best, Paula P.S. I second Yolanda's request and would love more detailed info via email. P.S.S. Just checked out the translation news section. Nice work!

[Edited at 2010-01-28 20:08 GMT] Hola Paula, Thanks for having the time to check the new feature (translation news page). Glad you liked it! This feature has no relation with "Sharethis" feature Jon has been developing. The feature I have announced is the page itself (the tranlsation news section). Please, if you have any feedback, suggestion or something you would like to add to make this page better, please let me know! Hi all, I have added an option to submit news stories ("Submit a news story" button). That button will lead you to an interface to prepare and submit news stories to be posted in the translation news page. Let me know your experience with it and if you have any suggestions, ideas, things that would be nice to add or change, please do not hesitate on telling me so. The translation news page seems to work a lot like a blog... it's user friendly and flexible. I think it has a lot of potential. It would be great if we could also share articles on Delicious, Stumble Upon, Digg, etc. A "send to Google Reader" function would be cool too. Also, did you consider SnapShots for links? I noticed you added a "subscribe by email" function, but what about "email this." That might be useful for users who don't necessarily like social utility sites, but still want to share stuff. Niraja Hi Niraja, Thanks for suggesting this sources! I went through the sites looking for RSS feeds to get subscribed to them (and in that way, being able to get news automatically into the translation news page) and I only found a feed for http://www.lisa.org/globalizationinsider/2009/ This is the feed: http://www.lisa.org/globalizationinsider/index.xml I will be adding this feed, to get news about it automatically. In the case of http://www.tausdata.org/ I found no RSS feed, so the only way to share that news in our page would by manually. Do you know if they have a RSS feed that I couldn't find? Thanks for your feedback, feeds like this will make the Translation news feature much much interesting. Best! Gastón | | | l Gaston l Local time: 19:16 Afrikaans to Ancient Hebrew + ... TOPIC STARTER

Do you know if they have a RSS feed that I couldn't find? Hi Gaston, I had a look myself to see if I could find an RSS feed for TAUS Data Association and I couldn't find one. As you may have noticed, they have a news section on their website. If possible, you could ask them if you could include articles from there manually for the ProZ news pages with a link back to their site, which would then be of benefit to them. I see that they advertise their search widget on ProZ, so it's quite likely that they'll agree to share news articles Best wishes, Niraja | | | paula arturo United States Local time: 18:16 Spanish to English + ...

Awesome! Related to Google Reader, there are already 2 RRS feeds at the top of the page that can be used with Google Reader. Do you think that would be enough? I tried the RSS feeds, but they went straight to my Outlook. How do I make them go to my Google Reader instead? BTW, 2 RSS feeds should more than enough! What do you mean with SnapShot links? Could you explain me SnapShot links are or send me some links related to it? It's just a cool feature that lets people view the site the posts are linked to without having to leave your site. I use this one on my blog: Bubble Link Javascript by Juan Xavier Larrea http://www.websnapr.com/ If you visit this link on my blog you can see the script in action: http://www.lawsandlanguages.com/?p=276 There's another one that's actually monetized. I don't use it because I don't agree with the Terms and Conditions of their user agreement, but I've seen it on a bunch of sites and it works quite well: http://www.snap.com/about/about.php This is really good feedback, thank you!
