See more Dear Members, Teams of volunteer members have been working hard over the last several months to localize ProZ.com into various languages. As a result of their efforts it is already possible to use the site in any of the following languages besides English: Spanish Russian Romanian German Portuguese (BR) Hungarian Latvian In addition, the following languages are presently being localized and we plan to release several of them during next month: French Italian Bulgarian Ukrainian Turkish Albanian Lithuanian Polish Swedish Hindi Chinese This localization effort will make this your language site even more user-friendly for the translators and interpreters, language service companies and end-clients all over the globe. We are seeking volunteers and coordinators to help translate the site into additional languages. If you are interested in coordinating or volunteering for a language NOT listed above, please let me know. We have a process in place to evaluate the feasibility of every localization project. When it is determined that a project is feasible (because a proper team has been assembled) then a new language is added to the localization pipeline. To compensate for their efforts, site localizers are provided with promotion throughout ProZ.com for one year after their translations are completed. Specifically: - All team members will receive recognition in their profiles ("This translator helped to localize ProZ.com into {language}") - All team members get listed, with photos and optional bios, on the localization team page for their language. Search engine optimized links will point to these localization team bios from most ProZ.com pages when viewed in that team's language. - Team leaders will also receive a search engine optimized link to their profiles from the bottom of most ProZ.com pages when viewed in their language. This promotion is significant, as it provides a substantial boost to the "page rank" of these translators' ProZ.com profiles in search engines such as Yahoo! and Google, resulting in an increase in client traffic. (ProZ.com's main pages have the highest page ranks in the industry, and these are inherited by pages we link to.) If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Can you tell us a bit more about what you regard as a "proper team"? | | |

See more Hey Community, Thanks so much for your interest in helping out:) I'm sorry it's taken me some time to reply. Please forgive me. Okay, I've notified the teams that have already been organized (Italian, French, and Hindi) and have let them know that there are other volunteers who are interested in helping out with the project. Regarding the other languages, we are revising the requirements for leading a team and also for volunteering for a team and will be releasing the criteria early next week. But in general terms, a team needs to have a team leader/coordinator (there can be more than one) and at least 4 volunteers to first be considered. For now, we would like to get some more volunteers from the communty so we can begin translating ProZ.com into new languages that have not yet begun.
