Exploring the nooks and crannies of my new profile pages, I was taken aback to find my birthdate, in the Basic Profile, given as 11 May. Now, as I reach a milestone (or maybe a last staging post) on Sunday and am somewhat reluctantly being made to celebrate, this was most disconcerting. It came to me - delayed response - I must be getting old; 11-5 instead of 5-11! From the tragic events of September 2001, we all know that the date format in the US is different from everywhere else - isn't it? But surely ProZ.com is an international site! Wikipedia tells us, about date formats: Middle endian (11-05-2006): used in the United States and countries with U.S. influence. Little endian (5-11-2006): common to the vast majority of the world's countries, and the accepted international date usage. (It also has what I guess Henry & Co. would give me as an answer: Big endian (2006-11-5): the ISO 8601 International formal standard - but I'm going to ignore that, my birthday my privilege!) ▲ Collapse

Marie-Helene, Liliana e Texjax Have a good weekend (and apologies to the adopted statunitensi if my comments on American date formats sounded at all inflammatory - it was tongue in cheek). Russell

And thanks for leading me to this nice feature at proz. I ignored that we can add our birthday date. But the months were in written format (not number), thus there was no way of confussion. Perhaps when you inicially entered your birthdate, the format was middle endian and you didn't know about it. Regards Clarisa Moraña
