Dear ITI ProZ,

I have long admired most of the business procedures and practices being promoted by the ITI, but the following incident has come to my attention:

http://www.proz.com/job?id=31531

Is it standard practice for ITI members to outsource jobs at 2 cents (please refer to ITI \"Code of Professional Conduct\" 3.3), or to make the same offer on other translator lists for 1 cent a word?

I think this job offer was from something called the International Translation something, which has nothing to do with the ITI - Institute of Translators and Interpreters.

ITI didn't (and wouldn't) post such a thing Feb 5, 2003

However, the job poster is an \"Associate Member\" of this very respectable group, which has a membership assessment board.

This is why I am addressing ITI members.

ITI has no control... Feb 5, 2003

on rates applied by its members in case of subcontracting or an ITI member running an agency.
