We need an Events Presenter for our site - someone who can demonstrate our virtual meeting technology to potential clients. Work from home, need broadband connection, excellent spoken English, and availability for, initially, 1 hour per week at a pre-arranged time.

Pricing:

4.00 USD per hour

By check

Who on earth would do it for such a miserable money, if he can afford a broadband Internet? They are nuts or what?

TOPIC STARTER
They certainly are nuts! Aug 7, 2002

I am sorry for English - taping it from work during a coffee break. The work has nothing to do with translation but brings 10 bucks every hour. It is monotonous and stupid, and I would wish I started translation job again.., but,.. these ridiculous offers just once again confirm my opinion that translation market from and into Russian gone dead after August 1998. And, unfortunately, I was completely right to switch to other jobs, although I liked my translation churn very much in Russia. And this Hunguarian proposal is quite indecent!

Ustashi proklyatie! Adieu.

not sure re.Hungarian ustashi Aug 9, 2002

Ustashi & Chetniki - these are from Yugoslavia as far as I know, not Hungary.

Translation market in/from Russian is quite active and (I strongly hope so) is going to be even more active in near future - it was not dead and never be, sorry, but it can hardly be possible at all. Pricing, - yes - it\'s fluctuating,, so what...

Ustashi & Chetniki ? Aug 9, 2002

My recent personal experience proves the Russian-related translation sphere is not only alive, it\'s gaining strength, and rates are on the uptrend. Not an optimist (хуже некуда? - почему же, есть куда, есть!), I still see a great potential for Russian translators, especially with RF joining the EU.

Same with Ukrainian (hopefully), though a bit later...
