Hello all!
I just received this through ProZ.
Although the sender is a registered member since 2005, something smells fishy.

Dear translator,
We noticed you speak Greek, and that's why we're coming to you to
ask for your help. We're an organization in the process of
creating teaching lessons in Greek for free to people who don't
have money, and we wonder if you don't mind proof reading a list
of words from English to Greek. This is a volunteer work, and your
compensation would be that you help poor people have access to
free education. If you email us back at with
the subject name "Greek Proofreader" we will email you the list of
the words that needs to be proofread. They are simple words
nothing technical. We hope you help us make free Greek classes
available to everyone.

I did google the e-mail... Jul 11, 2010

... and there are a few very similar e-mails and all from Ghana!

Same as everybody Jul 11, 2010

except in my case, Japanese.
A scam by massing mailing. I assume everybody got theirs with the same message except for the language part. And the email was addressed to Prozcom Members.
