Dear colleagues,

This is just to let you know about this e-mail I received a few minutes ago through proz.com (I've already sent the corresponding communication to the site staff). I have omitted the name of the company since it apparently exists, although this e-mail smells quite stinky to me.

"Hello Juan

Hope you are at your best.

I'm Keerthi writing from xxxxxxx. We're looking for assistance in conducting
market research projects in Spain (in Spanish language); and
for that, are looking for a reliable partner who can carry
out our projects.

We have some work to be done from Monday in Spain - The
work is about conducting market research interviews /
surveys with technology managers/ business managers, focused
on “long term evolution” in the country and covering
network efficiency, ecosystem and business benefits. You are
free to choose the companies to call, and can consider using
Skype to keep calling costs below Eur5.
We have time until the 31st of October to run this project,
and you can be free to do as many interviews as possible.
Please be free to let me know your best cost per interview/
survey; and also, let me know if you have any questions; I
look forward to hear from you. Thanks very much.

Best,
Keerthi"

Maybe spam, maybe not... (I bet on the former).

Is this scam? Mar 6, 2012

I have just received a similar message:

"Dear Candidate,

We are looking for freelancers for long term collaboration for our
Market Research in Spanish language.

As of now we have a market research project in which we have to
conduct 10 telephonic surveys in Spanish and the duration of the
survey is 10-15 minutes.

We will provide the translated questionnaire in Spanish language
and we would require recording/ audio file of each completed
survey.

If interested in the project, please send your costing in USD per
completed survey. Also advise how many surveys you can complete in
a week's time."

The sender is a ProZ user and I have submitted a support request, just in case. If anyone else received this message, be careful.

Thanks!
