Hi all,

Early in August I posted in this forum that my CV had been stolen. Today I received an email from another outsourcer asking me if I had sent the email forwarded to me written by “ Maria Shuster Gomes”, an allegedly Portuguese-English translator from Portugal who very stupidly attached my CV which states my name, my language pair (English- Spanish) and that I live in Buenos Aires and only changed the email address.

But the other problem is that I looked for the outsourcer who sent me the email in Proz.com’s BB and it is banned, although the telephone number appearing in the BB is different from the one appearing in their web page! So, right now, I don’t know who is who and who is actually using my CV to scam. But whoever it is, it is really causing me a lot of problems because if they succeed in receiving translations using my name, my credibility and good name are smashed to pieces.

I will send all the relevant information to the site staff.

Good luck to you all and please take care! Myriam

I don't think that you are the person who is doing this Aug 22, 2012

Hi, Ana María, of course I am not blaming YOU. I am sure that just like me, you are a legit translator, but someone seems to be using YOUR name and my CV to impersonate both of us. I have sent all the information to the site staff. If you wish, and so long as the site allows it, contact me through my Proz.com profile and I will send you the mail that I have received, since your name is also involved. Again, I don't think that you are stealing my CV, but rather that we are both being victims of a scam. Best wishes, Myriam
