I received the following message this morning

Good morning,

Services of an English speaker is needed in France for an eight
weeks contract.
Please for more information, send an email.

----------------------------------------
This message was sent to you via the ProZ.com directory.
Sender: dernado
Sender's profile: http://proz.com/profile/1710751
Sender's IP address: 64.37.60.44

I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar message? The ProZ id no longer exists apparently, and the IP is from Orlando, Florida.

Seems a bit bizarre to me, rather like a phishing expedition. I'd appreciate your comments.

I also received the same mail this morning, and out of curiosity clicked on the profile link. I was really surprised to see the platinum member ribbon next to the name.

I responded to the request, sending my CV. I received a strange reply, which made me suspicious. Tried both the phone numbers in the reply, they don't exist. I didn't accept any job, simply asked for more information. Please see below for copy of the email I received:

Hi Jeanette,

I received your information and your acceptance of the job.

Your details have undergone security checks and was added to my database for future reference.

I will arrive on the 9th Day of February.

I sincerely hope you are conversant with the France region? Because i have no idea of any area.

You will be responsible for my pick-up from the airport. (Full details would be sent to you later)

A cheque will be sent to you allowing you have funds for your initial operations before my arrival.

You deposit checks into your account.

And wait for further instructions from me on how to pay for my hotel accommodation etc.

Please confirm your mailing address so payments can be posted asap.

Please do not hesitate to ask questions.

If you need to speak with me, here is my phone number +442081446028 (earth).

This is my phone +447956968663 (SMS) you can send me sms and I will reply as soon as possible.

I do not need you to drive. I have an international drivers license which can make me drive while there. Also i have a Gps hence there should be no difficulties with movement.
