Dear colleagues,

Hoping you are all fine. I am writing today to warn you from a scammer who has stolen my professional CV.

This scammer's name is: Khalil El-Khatib / Khateeb Khalil /

He put his name instead of mine & changed a little of my information.

He is is sending out my CV pretending to be me, using A FAKE name. He even sent me previously some pages to translate but fortunately enough I have not been available!

Of course, I am very annoyed & distressed. I am thus REPORTING about him.
I will try to be more cautious from now on & I will delete my CV from Proz & similar sites.

*Joao Roque Dias has commented in his Directory of Translator Scammers available here:

"He belongs to the scamming ring made of,,, Translation Success Group (no website, just a façade name),,,,,,,, Purity Translations ( and possibly others."

Wishing you all A GOOD LUCK...

Just be cautious... Jul 28, 2013

Dear Marwa,

Just be cautious when sending out your CV. I advise you to have a look at Mr./Joao Roque Dias' Directory of Scammers.

They can gain a lot by sending out our CVs & altering some of our contact information. They can fool decent clients by handling their works... Some more vicious scammers can even use our real names to personify us, handle projects on our behalf, deliver bad quality or collect illegal payments! Thus destroying our reputation..

After all, I think that scammers will always have their own deviated ways to achieve their goals. In our profession, no one can be 100% safe from them! But we should always keep on protecting ourselves as long as we can...

Dear Natalie,

Thanks a lot for your valuable input.

Best regards....

I don't get it Mar 25

I don't get it: why don't they just pluck some names from the internet, and make up a cv? Are they so lazy that they even don't want to do it themselves?
