I've just received a typical "Nigerian scam" message (in this case actually Ghanaian) via Linkedin asking me to help retrieve a vast sum in the account of the deceased, all of whose family were killed in an accident dah di dah di dah. The same message has apparently also been sent to other Linkedin members called Forbes.
I want to report it to Linkedin but, unlike Proz, it is difficult to contact Linkedin's management. They don't have a "contact" tab on their main page, only a "feedback" tab. I've sent a report via their feedback tab but I doubt it will be attended to any time soon.
Does anyone know how I can contact Linkedin about this or what else I could do?
Thanks in advance for ideas.

Report spam Aug 6, 2015

i googled 'linkedin report spam' in got this:

https://help.linkedin.com/app/safety/answers/detail/a_id/146

https://help.linkedin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37822/~/recognizing-and-reporting-spam

https://www.linkedin.com/grp/post/85746-164876893

https://help.linkedin.com/app/safety/answers/detail/a_id/37021

https://help.linkedin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5342/~/phishing-emails

If you still can't find a way to do it, it probably isn't worth the trouble, as that sort of scam e-mails are everywhere anyway.

Thank you Aug 6, 2015

Thank you, Thomas and John. I'll try your suggestions. You're probably right, would anyone (whether called Forbes or not) still fall for this old fraud nowadays?

Not only for Forbeses Aug 6, 2015

Mind you, this scam is sent from Linkedin to members with any other family names.
Unfortunately, there are always people ready to believe in these offers...
Those firms that send money internationally actually train their agents to help their customers avoid being victims of these frauds.

Yes, doubtless Aug 7, 2015

Yes, Monica, doubtless the same heartrending plea has also been sent to people with other names. It's just that when I looked at the Linkedin profile of the sender, who calls himself "Patrick Attiah Barrister", his only "contacts" were all called Forbes (the name of the alleged victim of the crash and owner of the allegedly unclaimed millions was Forbes). I expect Patrick changes the victim's surname according to the surnames of the recipients of his plea.
I've now succeeded in reporting the matter to Linkedin and await their reaction, if any. Thanks, everyone who helped.
