I have just received a very short email from a basic Proz user (not in my language pair) that simply says
"I am very interested in your profile. May I have your CV? Thank you very much. Kind regards, XXXX"
Is this some sort of scam?

I received a similar email some time ago (short, no details, apparently "scammish") and I simply dismissed it as rubbish. I don't think it is worth my (and your) time. As far as I know, professionals behave differently.

... they remind me of a stranger knocking at my door wanting something from me without even introducing themselves or having mask on their face. For some reason people think it's not that bad while done online.

That's a good trick in general with "send me your CV, fill in the form and complete our test" emails.
