my name is Eva and I have recently begun to work with TagEditor.
I would really appreciate if you can explain me how to convert a ttx file into a word and ppt file after translation.
It would be really useful to me.

Thank you very much´

Clean up Mar 29, 2008

I'm not sure if I have understood the question, but this is what came to my mind:

Use the Clean-up function of Workbench. Tools--> Clean up --> Add file (the ttx file you want to convert) and Clean up.

Then, open the original (ppt or other) file you wanted to translate (as long as you were provided with such a file from the client) and you will see that it is translated.

It all depends on the original file Mar 31, 2008

Hi Eva,

the recommendations you have received are correct as regards the procedure itself.

On the other hand, the main issue is what was the original file format.

If the original file was a ppt file you will obtain the translated ppt easily by using commands prescribed above. Though, very often you must place the original file in the same folder in order to obtain the translated ppt at all.

In my experience Word is rarely converted to ttx, almost never, only in extremly complicated Word files.

To sum up, you always create the translated file according to the original file format.

I tried to SAVE TARGET AS.. to convert ttx file back to ppt, and this is the message I received:

Filter definition not found: TRADOS PowerPoint Filter

If anyone out there can help, I'll appreciate. Tks.

You may be using an older version of Trados Sep 20, 2011

Are you using Trados 2007? If not, that may be your issue.
