Morning all!

I've been asked to translate the tags in tag editor but don't know how to do it without changing the technical details.

For each line of text (describing hotels) there are headings such as herbergement, plus/moins, emplacement, restauration etc)

How do I translate these without altering the important bits (usually in red)?

Thanks

Hi David Jul 16, 2008

Use notepad=)
Just find the required text and replace it with translation.
Note, that text inside the tags is not counted in trados logs, so you have to charge this job separately.

Thanks, although i can't seem to change the text in the grey tags! Jul 16, 2008

I'm struggling to find a way to open the grey tags. Are there any setting that need to be changed?

Thanks again,
David

Tageditor is not for editing tags Jul 16, 2008

The name is misleading, but this is the first time I hear that someone wants to translate the tags. You have to do it in a text-editor like notepad, ultraedit etc.

Is your source html? Jul 16, 2008

You need to edit the ini-file accordinly.
Man html-tags have internal attributes, which can be opened for translation.
It depends on what you need and what your source is.
You can also select (mark) the tag and right click on it. If it has editable content, the "Edit Tag" option will be active. When you selct it, you will see a list of editable codes. Double clicking them should give you the possibility to enter new text. Please note, that working this way will not bring the tag content in your TM. Therefore I would really try to find out which attributes should be opened for translation.

So this is simply not true, that you cannot edit tags. It just depends...
