Hi All,
I am trying to create a new TM for Russian and another one for Polish.
In trados it looks like these two languages are not there?
Anyone has any idea where I can find the option to create those?
Thanks!!
Laura

Freelance or Professional? Aug 15, 2008

Freelance supports maximum five languages and only those you selected during the installation.
So if you for example selected English, French and German, these will be the only languages you can then use.
If you need to use more/other languages, you have to deinstall the software and install it again with the corrected choice of languages.
The Professional version does not have this limitation.

If you are using the Freelance version, you're limited to 5 languages you select during the installation.
In the Professional version, all the supported languages are available.

The Polish and Russian are supported as far as I remember (at least 10 years).
Although the handling of our caracters in Word was (and sometimes is still) a bloody mess, so I suggest you choose the Tag Editor workflow.

Cheers
GG

Just like me

But you should take in account the fact the support for the involved languages must be installed in Windows.
In fact, I'm guessing a little bit 'cause I install always ALL the available languages/encodings when I (re)install Windows.
It's an unconditioned reflex
As far I remember, I never had an "incomplete" Trados machine but I remember this kind of problems related to another software on other machines.
Some time ago, it was rather frequent in France

If you install the support for other languages (including the Asian), the problem should disappear automagically, I hope.
Otherwise, you have a Trados bug.

Cheers

Nope no polish or russian Aug 15, 2008

I checked again,
I have Portuguese straight after Norwegian.
And Sami right after Portuguese.
lso asked one of my translators (she has the same type of license) to check and she has both languages.
Any ideas?

Yep.
Install all you can find on the Language and Advanced tabs (as I see on my XP EN).
Check all the checkboxes for the encodings.

It seems you have no support fot the Central Europe and Cyryllic languages.
E.g., check Bulgarian and Slovak.

Cheers
